Add a data source - GitLab
Vault Radar allows you to connect to any top-level group on GitLab Cloud and GitLab Self-Managed.
Add GitLab Cloud
Prerequisites
- The group name
- Personal Access Token (with the right set of scopes)
Create a connection with GitLab Cloud
Select Settings/Data Sources.
Click on the GitLab Cloud button.
Enter the group name in the Group name text field.
Enter the personal access token in the Personal Access Token text field.

Click Next.
Add GitLab self-managed
Prerequisites
- Domain name
- Group name
- Personal Access Token (with the right set of scopes)
Create a connection with GitLab self-managed
Select Settings/Data Sources.
Click on the GitLab Self-Managed button.
Enter the domain name in the Domain name text field.
Enter the group name in the Group name text field.
Enter the personal access token in the Personal Access Token text field.

Click Next.
Add repositories to Vault Radar
Once you establish a connection, select which repositories you want to install by selecting a group or all.
Assign a group to a resource
Once you add a data source, an HCP user with the admin role must assign
a group to each of the monitored resources within each data source. You can
assign each resource to only one group.
Create a group at the HCP project level.
Assign either the viewer or contributor role to the group.
Navigate to the resource and click Add to group.
Select the group that requires access to the resource.
